Okay so if your name is Melanie you probably shouldn't be looking at this until after I send it to you :) That being said, I recently finished crocheting a blanket for my new niece, who will be making an appearance in June (hooray!!!).
I got the pattern for these super easy blankets from Glenda, my step-mother-in-law, and absolutely love it! Babies love it as well. You can ask my other sister-in-law Emily, whose children refuse to let them go (sure makes a body feel good, lol).
I wanted to choose some different colors, and to be honest I'm still not so sure about them, but the blanket is done and I'll be shipping it off soon. While the design of the blanket stays the same, I like to try different borders.

That is so beautiful. How long did it take you to make it?
Not long at all! It just depends on how much time you put into it. The blanket is done on a cro-hook, where it's hooked on both ends, so you're crocheting with two colors at the same time.
I worked on a few rows at night while watching television, and it took maybe two weeks. Glad you like it!
That's beautiful, Laurie! Some day I'll get you or Glenda to teach me how to do that.
Oh wow, Laurie! I LOVE this blanket! I started crocheting a blanket when I was pregnant with Isaac...and I still haven't finished it! It's sitting in a bag under my bed waiting for my attention. It certainly doesn't look as beautiful as this one!
